At year t, factor=1/(1+r)^t and present amount=future target×factor.

Calculation method

Shows each year's present value factor and the current principal needed for a future target amount.

Exclusions and checks required

  • Annual compounding and a constant discount rate are assumed; tax, costs, and risk adjustments are excluded.
  • The target is converted from ten-thousand-yen input to yen, while the current implementation does not directly apply the selected display digits and rounding to factor rows.
