beforeStart is max(0, purchasePriceYen−feeYen). dayFare is max(0, purchasePriceYen−elapsedDays×oneWayFareYen×2−feeYen). monthBlock is max(0, purchasePriceYen−monthBlockCost(elapsedMonths, oneMonthPriceYen, threeMonthPriceYen)−extraDays×oneWayFareYen×2−feeYen). noRefund sets the pass portion to ¥0 and adds depositYen to the final amount only when returnIcCard=true.

Calculation method

This calculator estimates a bus commuter pass refund from the purchase price, ordinary one-way fare, elapsed days or months, and handling fee, using either an operator preset or a manual selection of dayFare, monthBlock, or noRefund.

Exclusions and checks required

  • The operator presets are only representative dayFare and monthBlock classifications; they do not cover refund conditions or exclusions for every operator, ticket type, route, through pass, or purchase medium.
  • The current official Toei Bus handling fee is ¥500, but the screen's default feeYen is ¥520. Unless it is changed to 500 when Toei Bus is selected, the estimate will be ¥20 too low.
  • Returning an IC card adds only depositYen; the calculation does not include the stored-fare balance, a stored-fare refund fee, card type, or conditions for refunds to a credit card.
