Formula basis

Apply prefecture-specific health insurance rates to standard monthly remuneration and bonuses; include long-term care premium for ages 40–64, then split employer/employee shares.

Calculation method

This estimate uses Japan’s Kenkô Hoken Association prefectural rates to compute a rough employee and employer contribution from remuneration and age assumptions.

Exclusions and checks required

  • Rates differ by prefecture, age group, payroll class, bonus cap, and membership month.
  • Other insurers (union plans, national health insurance, continued coverage) follow separate rules.
  • When a rate change occurs between periods, confirm the exact effective month table.
