Formula basis

Health insurance, long-term care insurance, and the support levy use the health-insurance standard monthly remuneration plus the standard bonus, truncated below JPY 1,000 and capped at JPY 5,730,000. Apply each rate with rounding, total those components, and split the total between employee and employer. Separately apply the 0.36% employer contribution to the Employees' Pension standard monthly remuneration plus the standard bonus, truncated below JPY 1,000 and capped at JPY 1,500,000, and add it to the employer share.

Exclusions and checks required

  • This does not apply to society-managed health insurance, National Health Insurance, or voluntary continued coverage.
  • Standard remuneration uses the nearest grade, and the fiscal-year aggregate bonus cap of JPY 5,730,000 and qualification months are not tracked.
