Total tablets = doses per day x tablets per dose x number of days. Full sheets = floor(total tablets / tablets per sheet). Remaining tablets = total tablets mod tablets per sheet.

Exclusions and checks required
This is a simple arithmetic calculation (multiplication, division, and remainder) and does not judge whether a given dispensing or sheet-splitting method is appropriate.
When dispensing the remaining (leftover) tablets, cutting a PTP blister sheet into single-tablet units increases the risk of accidental swallowing of the packaging, as warned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan. For elderly patients in particular, caregiver supervision or unit-dose packaging is recommended.
Some medications have dosing limits that this simple sheet-count calculation cannot account for when determining whether dispensing is appropriate.
